1980 The company starts with $10,000 investment from the owners’ Father-in-Law.

1982 Father-in-Law forgives the debt due to generosity and the owners’ hard work.
1983 Investment in first foam ban-saw allows for precision shaping of open cell foam.
1986 The Foam Factory invests in its first foam “shredder” to make cushiony filling commonly used in pillows and cushions. The shredder allows Foam Factory to recycle scrap foam to nearly eliminate new foam waste.
1988 The Foam Factory offers closed cell foam products to its customers.
1991 Foam Factory moves from Roseville, Michigan to a newly built facility in
Sterling Heights, Michigan. The new facility is approximately 10,000 square feet in size.
1992 The Foam Factory makes investments in foam fabrication machinery. We take in foam in huge bun form instead of sheet form.
1993 March 1993 Foam Factory, Inc is Incorporated. Foam Factory also invests in non-CNC Machinery capable of mass producing 2D shapes
1995 Investment in CNC machinery allows for the cutting of 2D and 3D shapes quickly and accurately.
1996 As The Foam Factory’s market share grows even more, investments are made toward additional CNC foam fabrication machinery.
1999 Negotiations are completed and one of the owners is bought out. New management focuses on growing the company’s foam product line, fabrication capabilities and service area.
2000 The company website foambymail.com is established
2001 Additional Property is acquired increasing operating space from 10,000 square feet to approximately 34,000 square feet in the Sterling Heights area of Michigan.
2002 Investments made in CNC machinery to fabricate polystyrene foam.
2003 The Foam Factory moves from Sterling Heights, Michigan to Clinton Township, Michigan. The facility is 98,000 square feet.
2007 Major investment in foam fabrication machinery. The Foam Factory now has the capabilities to fabricate foam cheaper and faster. We are able to skive dense / closed cell foams, offer die cutting services and can perform low and high volume die cutting. Low volume die cutting is offered economically with water-jet cutting. Water-jet cutting eliminates the need for die tooling.
